Happy Thanksgiving!

November 24, 2016

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, on behalf of the FGDC team! No matter how traditionally or not we celebrate this day, or wherever we find ourselves in the world, let's welcome this holiday season and its much-needed cheer by focusing on gratitude.

Ten years ago, I celebrated my first Thanksgiving in the United States, visiting relatives in Atlanta, Georgia (I got to sample some very traditional southern food!). And looking back, it feels like every year, I have more and more things to be genuinely grateful about. Today, I am so thankful for my family, my friends, my US citizenship, my wonderful job and all the opportunities it has opened, and many more things that I'm too tipsy tired to enumerate right now.

Thanksgiving is also one of these holidays that makes me look back and reflect on the things that have happened since their last celebration. And hell, I'm SO grateful this year has passed rather fast ;) Mostly because the bad of it is behind me, the good is firmly settled (still, touching wood just to be safe), and I have a lot of happy changes to look forward to in the next few weeks and months.

Tonight, we've had a delicious dinner (appetizers and main courses courtesy of my super-aunt, desserts by me!) with amazing guests, and after this extraordinary Thanksgiving (and my very first as an American citizen!)  I'm finally in bed, with my make-up removed, drinking one final cup of herbal tea, and getting ready to turn off my computer, read a little, then sleep.

I hope your Thanksgiving was as wonderful as mine.
