Lavender Bedroom

March 01, 2013

I am a Pisces, which means that I am extremely complicated to understand and to deal with, and also that it is difficult for me to put myself in a specific category, because I keep changing. My tastes, my trends, my habits, everything. It's a miracle that I've stuck with the same hair colour since August 13th, 2008 (and I'm already itching to go blonde, but I digress).
Anyways, while looking for ideas to personalize my new apartment's bedroom, I realized I could determine my taste as glamourous and feminine (with a sprinkle of operatic diva here and there). And more than anything, I am in great need for a sanctuary of relaxation. I like simple, white bedding, and a comfortable armchair by the window, to read or just to relax. Then, for accents, come pillows and throws in shades of purple, violet, and lavender. They say blue is the most relaxing of colour, but reminds me too much of the only time in my life I was hospitalized, so I prefer to avoid it.
Lastly, I like translucent organza curtains, that provide necessary privacy but still let in natural daylight (yes, believe it or not, sunny days are frequent in Canada!)

How do you like to decorate your bedroom? Do your tastes change too often?

I love lavendar too... recently bought a florally lavendar duvet (doesn't look at granny-ish as it sounds) and everytime I walk into my room I smile.. just brings a certain happiness into the room that I love.
